Greetings Fellow Skeptical Inquirers!

The Montreal Skeptics Meetup - hosted by the new Centre for Inquiry's Community of Montreal (www.centerforinquiry.net/montreal), which is an independent organization affiliated with les Sceptiques du Quebec - is a forum for critical, scientific and skeptical inquirers, exploring a broad range of issues including paranormal claims, parapsychology, complementary and alternative medicine, fringe science and borderland science claims as well as how to communicate scientific inquiry to the public.

We encourage members to enjoy the resources of the Centre for Inquiry's Committee for Skeptical Inquiry (http://csicop.org/)..., with past and present members including Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov and world famous paranormal investigator Joe Nickell.

We will experiment with a variety of meetup formats - topical discussions and forums, informal social gatherings and perhaps the occasional educational presentation. We will also affiliate ourselves with the http://www.drinkingsk... and http://www.skeptic.or... and networks, which are worldwide conglomerations of skeptic meetups!

We encourage you to get involved in the Centre for Inquiry's new Community of Montreal. CFI Montreal will host major public educational events exploring science, religion, ethics and philosophy, as well as provide social and community services, political advocacy and campus outreach while promoting reason, science and free inquiry.
