I like it mainly because of the people; who have to say something interesting and are capable of contemplation.

The philosopher Alfred North Whitehead pointed out that if we drop the old idea of Platonic laws imposed on nature, and think instead of laws being immanent in nature, then they must evolve along with the nature

It was good to meet a couple people who have similar thoughts about alternative medicine, astrology, paranormal experiences etc. It's a good way to meet one or two other people who share your philosophy. If you want to meet more people or if you are shy and not outgoing enough to initiate conversation with strangers, I would not recommend this group.

Everybody has something of value to share with others.

It's an exciting way to engage thought-provoking questions about science, pseudo-science, religion, and philosophy with fun and friendly people!

I hope next time there will be a more specific topic to discuss instead of just something general like the guy's cruise pics.

I later wondered if I should've asked if you'd lend out any of your skeptic mags. I prefer reading a mag over online, but wouldn't subscribe before knowing I like it. I'm looking forward to seeing if people bring laptops; I imagine much more information swapping can occur this way. I'd be nice to show more people the message board here and the links/file uploads might get more activity too.

People were courteous, interested in the thoughts of others, but comfortable contributing their own point of view. We might benefit from some topics, circulated prior to the meeting.

It would be good to switch seats half-way through the night next time though so we get to meet more people!

This is a group that (it seems to me) requires a good environment for communication. YBC is less than ideal. Getting skeptics together is an excellent idea, however, and I encourage you to organize more events like this one.
